Terms of Use
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These terms cover this website and the services we provide at Onyx Salon. By using the site or booking with us, you agree to them.
About this website
This site shows our services, prices, and hours. We work to keep it accurate. Prices and availability can change without notice, and the price estimator gives an estimate, not a quote. The price we confirm with you at your appointment is the price that applies.
Photos, nail art images, text, and our logo belong to Onyx Salon or to the artists who made them. Please do not copy them for commercial use without asking.
Booking
By phone. Call (503) 224-2926. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Closed Sunday.
Walk-ins. Welcome whenever a chair is open. We cannot promise a chair, a time, or a specific technician for a walk-in.
Cancelling or rescheduling. Please give us 24 hours notice. It lets us offer the spot to someone else. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or do not show up, we may ask for prepayment or a deposit on your next booking.
Running late. We hold your appointment for 10 minutes. After that we may need to shorten your service or move you to another day, because the next guest is already on the way. This is what keeps our schedule honest for everyone.
Payment
Payment is due at the end of your service. We accept cash, credit, and debit. Prices do not include gratuity.
Our 7-day guarantee
If a gel or builder gel service chips or lifts within 7 days of your appointment, call us and come back in. We fix it free.
The guarantee covers our work. It does not cover a nail broken by an accident, damage from picking or peeling, gel removed at home or at another salon, or a change of mind about the color or shape. Those we are happy to fix, at the normal price.
We do not refund completed services. Retail product sales are final unless the product is defective.
Gift cards
Gift cards work for services and products at Onyx Salon. Under Oregon law they do not expire and we charge no fee for holding them. They cannot be traded for cash, and we cannot replace a lost or stolen card without the receipt.
Health and safety
Nail and waxing services are cosmetic. They are not medical care, and nothing we say is medical advice.
Tell us before your service if you have:
- Diabetes, poor circulation, or nerve damage in your hands or feet
- An open cut, infection, rash, wart, or fungal condition on the nail or skin
- Any allergy, especially to gels, acrylics, adhesives, or latex
- A recent injury or surgery on your hands or feet
- Been using retinoids, Accutane, chemical peels, or strong acids on skin we are about to wax
We may change or decline a service if we do not think it is safe. That is not us being difficult. It protects you and everyone in the chair after you.
If you notice pain, swelling, redness, or anything unusual after a service, call us and see a doctor. Reactions are rare, but a nail salon is not the place to diagnose one.
Waxing. We do not wax skin that is broken, sunburned, irritated, or recently treated with retinoids, Accutane, peels, or strong acids. Wait 7 days after any of those and tell us when you book. Waxing over treated skin can pull the skin off.
Minors
Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to give permission and to stay for the appointment. We do not wax anyone under 16.
Your belongings
Please keep your things with you. We are not responsible for personal property lost or damaged in the salon.
Behavior in the salon
We want a calm room. We may ask anyone to leave, and decline future service, for harassment, threats, discrimination, intoxication, or repeated disruption. Payment is still due for any service already done.
Privacy
How we handle your information is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Limits on our responsibility
To the fullest extent Oregon law allows, our responsibility for any claim connected to this website or a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses. Nothing here limits anything Oregon law says cannot be limited.
Links to other sites
We link to review sites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. Booking or using the site after a change means you accept the new version.
Governing law
Oregon law governs these terms. Any dispute is handled in the state or federal courts in Multnomah County, Oregon.
